Organic Maple Syrup vs. Natural Maple Syrup

It is often believed that labeling maple syrup as organic is unnecessary because it comes from trees, making it a natural product, but in reality, there are crucial differences between organic and natural maple syrup.

The differences stem from strict regulations, set by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), regarding the process of producing maple syrup. In order to label maple syrup as organic, producers are required to harvest their maple syrup without imposing harm on the environment.

This means producing maple syrup without the use of pesticides or chemicals on their property or neighboring property.  Organic agriculture promotes the long-term health of both humans and farmland.

Glenna Farms maple syrup is USDA Certified Organic by Midwest Organic Services Association (MOSA).  Prior to receiving this title, Glenna Farms was subject to an inspection to ensure its production techniques fit the standards of organic agriculture.

Choosing USDA Certified Organic maple syrup over natural maple syrup provides reassurance that what you are consuming is 100 percent free of pesticides and chemicals, and produced with the thought of you and the environment in mind.
