About Glenna Farms

Family Owned

A Family Tradition Rooted in Maple Syrup

Glenna Farms is, and always has been, a family operation. From weekend boiling sessions to a full-time farm, every step of growth has been guided by hands-on involvement, long-term commitment, and pride in doing things the right way.

The farm began in 1995 when Rick and Kristine Glenna purchased an 80-acre maple syrup operation from Arthur V. Olson. The sugar bush, already more than a century old, sat next to a dairy farm owned by Rick’s parents and was known for producing high-quality pure maple syrup.

Built by Family, Grown with Care

In the early years, maple syrup production was a family effort. Rick, Kristine, and extended family members spent spring weekends cutting wood, hanging buckets, and boiling sap. The finished syrup was sold at the dairy farm, continuing a tradition that had existed long before Glenna Farms officially began.

As time passed, the operation slowly grew. While working a corporate job in downtown Minneapolis, Rick invested in better equipment and more efficient processes. New buildings were constructed, tubing systems were installed, and production expanded while remaining rooted in family involvement.

From Hobby to Full-Time Farm

In March of 2001, Rick made the decision to leave the corporate world and focus full-time on Glenna Farms. What began as a weekend hobby became a lifelong pursuit built around family, hard work, and pride in the product.

Today, Glenna Farms produces more than pure maple syrup. The farm includes a retail store, hosts annual events, and provides corporate gifts for customers across the region. Despite the growth, the values remain unchanged. Every bottle reflects decades of family dedication and hands-on care. When you purchase from Glenna Farms, you are supporting a family that has poured generations of effort into doing things the right way.
